Laurel Kincl has been the director of Community Outreach and Engagement Core (COEC) of the Environmental Health Science Center (EHSC) since August 2012. After graduating from the Department of Environmental Health at University of Cincinnati, she worked for 6 years conducting outreach, education and research locally in Oregon and nationally at the Labor Education and Research Center at the University of Oregon, working wide variety of occupational and environmental health and safety topics. Following her time at the University of Oregon, Laurel was a research fellow at the Center for Research in Environmental Epidemiology in Barcelona, Spain where she studied the relationship of exposures to chemicals and electromagnetic fields and the risk of brain cancer. 

In her current position as an assistant professor in the College of Public Health and Human Sciences, her research interests include quantifying, communicating and controlling occupational and environmental exposures and reducing adverse health outcomes from such exposures. She teaches in the Occupational and Environmental Health & Safety graduate program.

She enjoys working with the EHSC COEC team and investigators on their projects and connecting with communities in Oregon and beyond.

Outside of work, she enjoys being outside, knitting, and long runs.
